Global Engineering Reports

In an introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation I led a team of 6 people to create a mock M&E proposal for a USAID pastoralist intervention in Ethiopia. This included background research, theory of change, logframe, and diff-in-diff evaluation design.

In an Introduction to Global Health course, I completed a scaffolded project estimating the global burden of disease from diarrheal diseases and PM2.5 exposure. I modelled what the burden would be in the USA if people drank water with the microbial concentrations of Boulder Creek.

The complete project can be viewed in Rpubs - Rpubs Code and Report .

The scaffolded project was designed by Dr. Evan Thomas.

In an Introduction to Global Engineering course we explored the cross-cutting issues related to international development and global engineering. This course included a country research project where I researched the current conditions in Pakistan and proposed a national development plan.

I also read The Divide, by Jason Hickel. I mention this because I found it very compelling. Afterwards I read Free to Choose, by Milton Friedman. I feel very motivated to find a solution to the tension between these two compelling, and diametrically opposed, perspectives.
